Welcome to Broadoak TV

We dedicate weeks of hard work to bring you each episode of The Live Room, all at no cost to you or the artists we invite onto the show. Your donations, no matter how small will help us to keep bringing you these rare, passionate performances! Thank you, peace & love. The Broadoak Team.

Welcome to "The Live Room". About once per month, we will bring you a new live concert performance from some amazing acts, all filmed and recorded live here at Broadoak Studios, with no overdubs or fixes... just honest performance, recorded and mixed by producer Harvey Summers using our stunning vintage mics and studio equipment - giving the best combination of great sound quality and raw performance energy, in real vibey surroundings.

Episode 7 is by far the loudest show to date, courtesy of Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell! We have recently worked with the guys on recording their latest album "Check 'em Before you Wreck 'em" which has been receiving great reviews. So turn it up to eleven and enjoy!

Please subscribe to receive updates each time a new show is released as we will be covering many different styles, genres and performers in future episodes.

Happy listening, and remember to check out our earlier shows too!

For Episode 6 we have Otti Albietz and the Voices. Otti is a singer, songwriter and performer with a unique style and perspective. Previously, he fronted the band, Dusty Rosko before embarking upon his solo career. Otti met Harvey of Broadoak while recording the Dusty Rosko album, "Next-wave heavy-soul", where they formed a creative relationship which led to Otti's second album, "Bubbytone II" being produced by Harvey. After signing to BBE records, Otti's third and current eponymous album, "And the Voices" was also recorded at Broadoak with Harvey, mostly live, with improvisation adding a new freshness to Otti's already original sound.

Episode 5 sees the wonderful Buick 6 performing a blistering set live in our studios. The Anglo-Irish band was formed in 1989 by Roger Hubbard (guitar/vocals), Colin Gibson (bass) and Liam Genockey (drums). They play a sophisticated form of music that blends country blues styles with pleasing elements of folk.
The trio with Gibson and Genockey made a successful album in 1990 but the band's members all had busy careers and this meant that Buick 6 was never really a full-time entity. They continue to play together when opportunities and conflicting schedules allow, making this show something very special indeed!

Episode 4 features the wonderful Jemima Price Band. Great original songs, a cool line up of great musicians all adding their unique sonic flavours to the mix! Along with the live performances, Broadoak Studios' owner, producer, Harvey Summers talks to the band about their influences and inspiration.

Claire Hamill performed a delightfully intimate acoustic set for our Live Room show and gave a fascinating interview.

With one of the finest female voices in the UK and a repertoire of stunning compositions, Claire Hamill is excited. Her current album – the first in a while – ‘The Meeting of the Waters’ is an eclectic melange of haunting melodies, evocative lyrics and contains many references to her musical journey, some harking back to her Irish roots.

Long time friend and collaborator of Harvey Summers, "John Pearson", performing here with "The Outriders", harpist Jem Turpin and drummer Sacha Trochet. John and Harvey have worked together for some 15 years, notably on John's recent albums, "Eucalypso Furioso" and "Coal In The Soul", both recorded here at Broadoak.

John (JP to his friends) has lived one hell of an interesting life which has influenced his unique brand of ragtime, blues and gospel songs. Here, along with an amazing live performance, John talks to Harvey about his music, it's history and some of his extraordinary expirences.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the pilot episode of our brand new show, "The Live Room".
